Request on the basis of the Freedom of Information Act

The Federal Act on Freedom of Information in the Administration (Freedom of Information Act, FoIA) and its implementing ordinances came into force on 1 July 2006. The Act basically guarantees any person a right of access to administrative documents created after 1 July 2006. The required documents may be consulted at the office concerned or issued in the form of copies. A fee is charged for dealing with each request. Normally no information is given concerning ongoing investigations. Journalists should get in touch with the contact point for the media.
